Health, when out for work

travelling for work 1Irregular timings, being always on the move, erratic eating habits, no breaks, lots of commuting, digestive disorders…

These are just few of the typical problems that a person with a job on the move will face. When you travel most days in the city or outside, with no routine in your working hours then your health goes for the toss.

Here are some tips for you to make sure your health doesn’t suffer just because you are out, travelling most of the time.

  While travelling

Small stretches: While travelling you can do small stretches. Like if you are travelling by planes then you can carry walk briskly through the terminals while you are waiting for the flight. While on the plane you can get up after every hour to stretch and walk. In a train you can walk through the boogies, get up stretch your arms and legs, and in a car you can give your hands, arms and your legs a stretch when you stop for tea and snacks breaks.

Catch some zzzzs:  You are travelling back to back without much break. So why not use the travelling time to rest and sleep rather than fretting and worrying about the deals and the meetings. This sleep will give your body a much needed break.

Reach early: Make sure you reach your destination well before your scheduled meeting or conference. This will give your body a change to get rid of the jet lag and you can probably get some rest and adapt to the climate. When you do this you will notice that you will be fresher and have more time to get organized and be ready for the meetings.

Carry water: We can hardly survive without drinking water in a day, yet many of us avoid carrying water with us when we travel to different places. Depending on others or unreliable sources of water isn’t very wise either. So, carry a bottle of water whenever you are travelling no matter how heavy your luggage is.  In choosing a packaged water to drink from, choose a good company and check that it is unopened. It is better to be safe than regret later.

Take climate into consideration: If you stay in a place which is hot and humid and assume it will be the same where you want to go to, then you are leaving too much to chance. Carry warm clothes like jackets and shawls so that you are prepared for a sudden drop in temperature. Also for a rise in the temperature, carry lighter clothes as well as umbrellas and sunscreen when you are going.

Bring some entertainment: if you are travelling without any company then the journey will seem to be more tedious. So carry something that entertains you like a music player and some books or magazines.

Dry snacks: You might have assumed that since you are travelling you are going to eat outside food. But wait a minute, do you think you have the time to eat whatever comes and then fall sick? No, right then take some along with you some healthy dry snacks like thelpas, khakra’s, kurmura and kellogg’s which last long and are nutritious too.

When you reach

Nuts and Dry fruits: When you are out most of the time and shuffling between travel, meetings and work, you tend to neglect your eating habits and either starve or binge on unhealthy foods. While travelling or between meetings keep peanuts and dry fruits handy. Munch on them; they will prevent you from starving at one point of time and then over eating during meals.

Choose wisely: There are numerous choices available for eating, what you choose makes the difference. When there are options between heavy and light lunches, opt for a smaller and lighter meal like sandwiches with lots of veggies, these will make sure that you will not feel sleepy when out and that you don’t get acid reflux due to spicy food.To read more about Health, when out for work

Doctors Play An Important Role To One’s Health

November 16th, 2009

The advantages of being a newly passed physician are bountiful in all aspects. The following are perks of young doctors in any chosen field and will never regret the time they’ve spent working and studying forms and books to become one.

Newer physicians are updated in the field of Medicine. New sickness, illnesses and diseases come sprouting about, and as doctors, they get to discover these first hand, determine its causes and effects and its symptoms on humans. Recognizing the diseases, they get to determine it and study it for the purpose of knowing a cure for it then, applying the cure on people. They are current on their knowledge about treatments and procedures to provide the best care for patients who desperately need them. Thus, doctors are known to be life savers.

Stark II laws passed last 2004 is one great advantage of being a recently passed physician. Before this law came to existence, doctors recruited by hospitals could not have a private practice or have duties at other hospitals. They were required to send all their patients and refer them to the hospital who recruited them. The doctor’s salary was also based on the patient referrals. Nowadays, doctors are not anymore restricted by the recruiting hospitals. Established physicians who are privately practicing medicine cannot be recruited by hospitals except only if they meet the criteria for it, geographically and demographically speaking. This allows new physicians for more job opportunities. They cannot be restricted anymore.

Another benefit of the Stark II is on joining an existing practice by new physicians. If a doctor is being recruited by a reputable hospital, the recruitment forms fee given by the hospital directly goes to the doctor. Expenses chargeable to the new physician will be costs attributable to his or her entry only. An example of that would be his or her secretary’s salary. Part of the salary will be charged to the new doctor because a secretary was hired due to the doctor’s coming in to the practice. If there are already existing secretaries and there is no need to employ a new one, then, the new physician will not be responsible for paying them.

New doctors are more motivated, more committed, and more devoted to their job. This is a time for them to prove themselves as worthy doctors. They will be building their reputations and must make good first impressions on people around them. Working long hours is a must for them. They need to be seen and heard at all times. That is how 21st century doctors were trained.

Doctors are very in demand, especially in America, and the supply is running out. It’s like simple Economics. At the age of 50, a large percentage of well established physicians retire because of various reasons. Problem is that America is doubling in population by the minute and qualified professionals to practice different specializations in medicine are retiring at the same rate. More physicians are needed at present. This scarcity of professionals gives leverage to new doctors who are specialists in their own field. A higher salary is being offered to them even though their legal bills are also increasing as well. Many doctors now have to sign numerous legal forms to cover themselves of any liability from malpractice. A new physician can demand for much better benefits and a work schedule of their liking.

Ben is an expert in writing about legal forms and documents that may help you when your in the search of the right legal document. He writes many articles about forms ranging from, real estate forms, power of attorney forms, landlord tenant forms, and most any legal form that your searching for.

About Milk For Health in Life

November 3rd, 2009

Most of us have been raised on milk. Not only that, many of us have been raised with the “Basic Four Food Groups” and other dietary guidelines that recommend milk as one or our daily food needs. However, there is much we need to understand about milk and how if affects our bodies, what it does and does not provide, and how today’s dairy milk differs from the milk that used to be found on the farm or in the past.
Let’s first understand that we as humans are mammals. We are the only mammals who drink milk after we are weaned. We are the only mammals who drink milk from another mammal. We are the only mammals who drink pasteurized milk!
Humans and other mammals were created to produce nourishment for their young. That’s how it was meant to be and that’s how it should be. Horses produce milk to feed their young. Sheep produce milk to feed their young. Cows produce milk to feed their young. Humans produce milk to feed their young too. That is nature’s way of starting a baby on the right and proper nourishment. But none of the mammals are meant to produce milk forever. We/they begin to dry up after a year or so. In order to produce more milk, it takes producing another baby. Yes, cows and goats have to be bred on a yearly basis in order to continue to produce milk – it wouldn’t happen any other way. (And by the way, I’m glad I am not a cow having to get pregnant on a yearly basis for my milk production, with my new baby yanked away from me as soon as it arrives!)
Today’s dairies greatly differ from the farm milk cow when I was a child. I remember my father going out and rounding up our milk cow, morning and evening, to milk her. A dairy milk cow today does not need to be rounded up twice daily. They will usually come in voluntarily three or more times a day! Why? Because they are fed hormones as well as their own bi-products to increase milk production and are so engorged that their milk bags often drag, or almost drag, the ground. They come to get milked to find relief. And just as engorgement causes breast infections in humans, it will likewise in cows. They are given good doses of antibiotics and vaccines to “keep them healthy”. If not, there is blood and pus that will show up in the milk. All milk is tested in every dairy before it is taken each time. They will know where the blood and puss level is. Don’t worry though. You won’t be drinking anything but “Grade A” milk from the store. However, any “Grade B” milk (which can have up to 5% blood and pus) will be made into cheese. Rest assured, if your cheeses, sour cream, cream, etc. does not say “Grade A”, then you know it is most likely from “Grade B” milk.
Nut, soy and rice milks have often been discounted in being termed “substitutes” to the real thing. However, it is all in how you look at it. Would you rather be nursing from the utter of a cow to get that milk to pour on your cereal, or would you rather get it from raw nuts, soybeans, rice or other vegetable proteins? These other “milks” do differ in protein, calcium, fat, and nutritional content, but they can be great sources of nutrition.
If we would focus more on these kinds of foods in our diets – leafy greens, whole grains, beans, sprouts, raw nuts and seeds –instead of the meat, milk, fast foods, processed and prepared foods (that are high in calories yet lacking real digestible nutrition) we would not only feel better, but we would look better (having better weight control), and not have to experience all the diseases and disorders that we do as a people. Good sound nutrition from wholesome foods is the real key to better health!

Do Not Let Depression Affect Your Health

October 21st, 2009

Some people have a difficult time in managing their depression. Sometimes, their depression and fears can get best of them. As a result, here is a short list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their depression.

One of the ways to manage your depression is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or depressed, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, your afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available.

Some people get depressed and have a difficult time getting out of bed in the mornings. When this happens, a person should take a deep breathe and try to find something to do to get their mind off of the problem. A person could take a walk, listen to some music, read the newspaper or do an activity that will give them a fresh perspective on things. Doing something will get your mind off of the problem and give you confidence to do other things.

Sometimes, we can get depressed over a task that we will have to perform in the near future. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship volleyball game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self-Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation.

Another technique that is very helpful is to have a small notebook of positive statements that make us feel good. Whenever you come across an affirmation that makes you feel good, write it down in a small notebook that you can carry around with you in your pocket. Whenever you feel depressed, open up your small notebook and read those statements.

Take advantage of the help that is available around you. If possible, talk to a professional who can help you manage your fears and anxieties. They will be able to provide you with additional advice and insights on how to deal with your current problem. By talking to a professional, a person will be helping themselves in the long run because they will become better able to deal with their problems in the future. Managing your fears and anxieties takes practice. The more you practice, the better you will become.

The techniques that I have just covered are some basic ways to manage your depression, however your best bet is to get some help from a professional.

Stan Popovich is the author of “A Layman’s Guide to Managing Fear Using Psychology, Christianity and Non Resistant Methods” – an easy to read book that presents a general overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties. How Snoring Affects Your Health

September 18th, 2009

I wanted to talk to you about a snoring product that I think has a lot of promise at helping people. The problem with snoring is that everyone seems to think it is hard to fix. No one has a much of an idea on the solutions they can apply. They can only think of one thing; surgery. Of course if you’re faced with surgery as a solution, you’re not exactly going to try and fix this problem. People need to learn that there are a lot of great ways to tackle this with solutions that are extremely easy. That is why I want to talk to you about a smart snoring product because it is easy.

The first thing that you have to understand is that this is a problem with your jaw. Essentially snoring is caused by your jaw falling down on the muscles of the throat. This creates a lot of pressure and you end up producing sounds. This happens because the muscles that hold your jaw typically go limp while you go to sleep and your jaw stretches down to a position that is too far low than it is supposed to be. All you have to do is support the jaw and you’re set.

Snoring may start soft, but if overlooked can affect your life seriously, that’s why it is important to find snoring solutions. The snoring sound originates when the soft palate and uvula vibrate due to irregular air flow. It is estimated that 40% women and 60% men suffer from snoring problems, but there is no need to be part of the statistics.

There are many solutions to snoring available these days, however, not all solutions work for everyone, sometimes the only alternative left to try is the surgery. Determining the cause is also important, because we may snore and elevate the risk factors of developing allergies, nasal obstruction, sensibility to smoke, overweight and adenoid problems.
Here are some natural snoring solutions:

Singing. This is a fun way to eliminate snore problems. When you sing you are actually strengthening the throat muscles, it will also reduce the excess of tissue.

Lose weight. Losing weight has helped countless people say good bye to snoring for good. You don’t have to be perfectly fit; people have found out that just by dropping a few pounds they are able to get rid of the fat on the throat area, which clears the air passage.

Avoid alcohol. Alcohol tends to over-relax the muscles in the throat, thus making it easier for snoring to appear. Now that we talk about drinks, you should also avoid drinking high-fat milk. It will produce more mucus on the throat.

Being overweight is a common reason. Excess fatty tissues in the neck can narrow the air passages and lead to snoring. The air passages of males are generally narrower than that of females. Therefore, males are more likely to snore than females.

Drinking alcohol makes your body relax. It also relaxes the muscles of your tongue and throat. You have a greater chance of snoring as these muscles relax. Antihistamines and sleeping pills have the same effect on muscles as alcohol consumption does.
