Utilize the Principals of Bodybuilding to Reach your Fitness and Fat Loss Goals

No matter where you look you can find evidence that looking and feeling great is one of the most prevalent subjects in our society today. Be it the never ending commercials for exercise products or diet programs that we see on TV, or the parade of waif thin models on the covers of the latest fashion magazines, or even the scores of Hollywood actresses or actors parading their beautifully toned bodies on the big screen, being thin and being in shape is on the top of many people’s minds.

While billions of dollars are spent each and every year on specialized exercise equipment or diet products, building muscle and losing fat can be as simple and inexpensive is heading down to your local gym and picking up a set of dumbbells. Bodybuilding is a sport and activity that has been around for more than 100 years and it has been shown to be incredibly effective at transforming one’s physique into a powerful and sculpted thing of beauty. Now, you needn’t be afraid that simply by picking up some weights you are going to grow into a massive piece of meat, but building muscle is one of the fastest and most effective ways in helping you reach your fitness goals. Building muscle works to increase your metabolism so that with every pound of muscle you build, your body becomes more and more effective at burning fat on a regular basis, even when you are NOT working out. In addition, the muscle you build will help you to shape your body so that you can look your absolute best.

Building muscles through active bodybuilding may not be quite as hard as you think. You see, some of the most tried and true bodybuilding exercises are also some of the most efficient at building muscle quickly. Take the squat for instance. Many look at this exercise as simply something to make your thighs bigger, but the fact is, squatting with weights can help you build muscle over your entire body while losing significant amounts of body fat all the while. In addition, by adding an upper body exercise like pull-ups to your bodybuilding regimen, you can shape and tone almost your entire upper body including your shoulders, your entire back, and even your biceps. Many people who try bodybuilding are surprised at the amount of fat that starts falling off their body after they pick up some weights even if they have not increased their aerobic workouts at all. Body building can burn significant calories as well as build muscle. Bodybuilding also acts to help strengthen your heart and cardiovascular system as well.

So if losing fat and looking better are a priority on your list, and perhaps it’s time that you took up the activity of bodybuilding and began taking part in this health promoting and physique improving pastime.

5 Days to a healthier and THINNER you!

Who wants to go on a diet? Who wants to exercise day in and day out and practically kill ourselves to shed those excess pounds? Worse yet, who wants to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the latest diet programs that promise to help us lose weight quickly? The answer is, NO ONE DOES!

The sad fact is though, many of us feel like we don’t have any other alternative but to try one or all of the above techniques to try to lose weight. There IS a simpler and more effective way though, and its no secret. It is the same “Eat healthy and exercise” plan you have probably heard about for years. This IS the key to a healthier and thinner you, but if you don’t have an organized plan of action, then getting there can be difficult if not impossible for some. Below is a simple 5 day plan that can help you “baby step” your way to adopting a much healthier and thinner you.

DAY 1

Let’s start into your new life by going shopping! Head to the supermarket and buy healthy foods. It can be tough when faced with all the goodies starting out you from the supermarket shelves, but choose foods high in protein and fiber and low in fat and overall calories. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans and nuts are great choices.

DAY 2

Now that you have bought all the food you need to start your new life, it is time to start making a record. Write down everything you eat throughout the day, BUT write it down BEFORE you eat it. This will help you to keep an active record of exactly what you are putting into your body. By seeing what you are eating, you are much more likely to make the RIGHT choices.

DAY 3

Today is the day we begin to really hydrate our bodies. Focus on getting a full 8 glasses of water and make this a habit going forward. Drinking plenty of water is important in order to flush your body of unwanted toxins which can prevent us from losing the weight we need to lose.

DAY 4

Day 4 is the day to start exercising. Start slow, perhaps with a walk around the neighborhood or some jumping jacks. You will want to increase the amount of daily exercise you do to increase the calories you burn. Don’t be afraid to add some weight training into you regimen as not only will this help to burn additional calories, but the muscle you build will help to further speed up your metabolism and burn more fat as well.

DAY 5

This is the final day of our mini life changing plan. Each day you have been adding just one new technique to help you become healthier and get in better shape. Today is about YOU. Have a piece of cake (not a BIG one!) or maybe a bowl of ice cream. It is ok to indulge once in a while especially when you have been following a strict diet. You have to reward yourself occasionally to help keep you motivated to keep going and living a lifestyle that will make you healthier, happier, and thinner!
