Maintaining Health as You Age

January 25th, 2010

The aging process is going by each and everyday of our lives. Stopping the clock is impossible so we all need to stay healthy and take care of ourselves. There is no way you can turn around the process, as we grow older so except it and take care.

Start working now to take care of yourself as you age. Taking care of yourself now will help slow down those aging diseases. A person can do many things, as they get older to take care of their health.

You can start out by taking your multivitamins and all other prescriptions your health care provider has prescribed to you. Taking vitamins is as important as anything else you can do is. Vitamins will provide your body with repair tools. Vitamins will lessen the dangers and the risk of you getting some of the chronic diseases that you can acquire as you age. Diet alone doesn’t normally give a person all the vitamins that they need. In fact, experts show that millions of people in the world suffer malnutrition despite the fact that they eat three healthy meals per day.  People are known to eat too much fast food, go on fads or quick weight diets that harm the body. This builds stress, which causes loss of vitamins.

Maybe you’re a person who eats many processed foods because of your busy life style and there is just no time to cook the right meals. You could be one that stops off at a fast food place to eat three or four times a week before going to work or home from work because you are just to tired to fix supper. Remember eating all that fast food isn’t good for the digestive system and all that fat from them fries isn’t good. Take time to fix a meal and sit down to enjoy it; doing this will cut down on the calorie intake and it helps to relieve stress because your doing something good for you and or your family.

Stop worrying about everyone else; take time out for you. Stress is bad for your heart, which affects your blood pressure, nervous system, and is hard in general on your body.  Stress can cause many things, even causing a person to become obese. The world is turning at such a fast pace these days that there is never time to take care of us, so start now.

Try doing a little exercise to stay healthy as you age. Every little bit of exercise you do is better than not any at all.  An average person should exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 minutes. A person has many options when it comes to exercise.  Walking is a great exercise, since it helps you keep those muscles more flexibly and stronger.

How happiness makes you live a longer life:
Happiness is another way to stay healthy as you age. If you are not happy find out why and turn it around so you will be. Being happy and being with friends is always a good way to keep the stress away to. Don’t let yourself get depressed and down; it will make your aging come upon you sooner than you want and it can cause you to be a very sick person. Depression is a sickness and you want to stay away from all that.

Again, there is no way you can stop from aging so stay in good health and slow it down.  Keep yourself happy, do those exercises and take those vitamins. Staying active helps keeps the stress down, keep you stronger and you’ll feel better for doing it.

January 25th, 2010

I always try to maintain my health in a natural way. I’m always fond knowing things about improving my health as I take my health seriously.

As long as my health is concerned I’m fond of knowing the things that I do not have control like genes, pollution etc and the things that I have control over my heath

On the basis of research I collected a lot of details on cytomegalovirus. And also its connection to hypertension. Mostly I prefer researching health topics that brings value to me and my clients.

Like so many viruses, CMV takes its name from Greek – cyto (cell) plus megalo (large). This virus is actually part of a larger herpes virus family. It is part of the same virus family of which mononucleosis is a member.

CMV virus affects 60 to 99 percentage of the population. Developing countries is mostly affected by this virus, even though it is found in almost all countries. Urine, saliva and semen are the substances through which this virus is passed.

The first thing a virus which I have not heard of affects 60 percentage of the population. Secondly there is 39 percent gap in infection rate reports to be inconsistent. This two reasons bother me a lot.

As I’m not a doctor I asked one of my good friend who is a doctor about this. He replied on a average a person with a age 40 carries this virus and it is widespread. I was shocked to hear this.

My friend went on to explain that the virus doesn’t generally produce symptoms in children or adults unless the patient is has an immune compromised system already (HIV infected, organ transplant recipients and elderly patients).

This virus is rarely life threatening apart from the above said conditions. And about one percent of born babies get this virus as birth defect.

I can live with that if it is harmless.

Recent studies it has been confirmed that there is a connection between CMV virus and atherosclerosis. And this can lead to high blood pressure, but it is even more deadly when it is mixed with high cholesterol diet.

It can even affect younger patients, but it is commonly found in persons above the age of 80. If untreated hypertension can destabilize all the other organs and this may lead to conditions like stroke, blindness etc.

This opens new doors as far as preventative medicine is concerned. New research has lead many experts to consider vaccines as an option when looking at high blood pressure patients.

Basically regular exercise and healthy diet are the better ways to eliminate hypertension. Only this will protect you from high blood pressure. You can also take prescribed medicine, but all the prescribed medicines comes with a side effect.

I recommend my all natural High Blood Pressure program. The relaxation and breathing exercises are easy to do and the results are amazing, both short and long term!

Get a Good Health With Chocolate Pecan Pie

January 25th, 2010

Many people might think that a chocolate pecan pie slice is so extravagantly luscious it must not be good for the health. Not exactly. Some would also think that the only reason one would eat it is because of its magnificent taste. This is where you are wrong. This scrumptious dessert has few health benefits you never thought would exist in something so delectable.

Consider the first element in making the pecan pie. Apparently, pecan is a kind of nut. All nuts are fine sources of unsaturated fats, protein, and over nineteen vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, potassium and zinc. Studies suggest that one to two ounces of nuts eaten a day, such as pecans, can help decrease the risk of heart disease, particularly if taken together with a low cholesterol diet. There are Sterols naturally found in these nuts are found to be an aid in lowering cholesterol levels. Pecans belong to the highest foods considered as having anti-oxidant capacity. It is in fact the nut which has the largest amount of antioxidants. These are loaded with anti-oxidants, ellagic acid, flavonoids, Vitamin E; anti-oxidants associated with anti-cancer results and avoid disease-causing oxidation in our bodies. These phytochemicals is known to shield against stomach, rectal and colon cancers. A single piece of chocolate pecan pie might not be bad for you after all.

For people who are on a diet, pecan nuts are incorporated in the thirty five percent of calories that we need to obtain from fat. Pecans are low in unsaturated fat and carbohydrate content that can assist your in keeping your weight off longer. It is also an excellent source of fiber. A single piece of chocolate pecan pie can provide you your daily need of nut fiber and unsaturated fat. For some great products and recipes for chocolate pecan pie check out Tannerspecan.com.

The chocolates present in the chocolate pecan pie also have benefits. Dark chocolate or cocoa has antioxidants such as flavonoids which have anti-cancer results. Some researches also claim that chocolate creates a minor decline in blood pressure. Chocolates have the stimulants caffeine, theobromine, phenythylamine and tyramine. The Trytophan present in cocoa reduces anxiety.

Chocolates are reported to release endorphins, which decreases the feeling of pain. The statement that chocolate is an aphrodisiac is yet unauthenticated, but possible comes from the outcome it generates like energy boost and reduction in anxiety.

Every pecan pie cannot be made without eggs. It is a good source of protein. These contain choline for the nervous system and the brain and lutein which helps prevent age-related macular deterioration and cataracts. And opposite to most opinions, consuming one egg a day has no significant effect on your cholesterol levels. Every chocolate pecan pie only contains three eggs. Out of the eight slices a pecan pie can have, if you happen to eat only one, you will only get a smaller amount of an egg with a single slice.

The blending of those ingredients in the chocolate pecan pie is great for the senses and also to our health.

Free Health Care Reform Is Already Here! The Alternative.

January 25th, 2010

What most people in America call “health care reform” has nothing to do with real health care.  What they refer to is actually quick fix idiocy.  Sure, doctors fix broken bones and other accident injuries but for the most part they perform operations/procedures and prescribe synthetic drugs to people that have not, and refuse to, take care of themselves by natural means.  Most of these people have been eating out at junk food restaurants for years and watching tv for hours a day!  They eat eggs w/cheese every morning and meat and potatoes at night.  They’ve been drinking unfiltered water, breathing smog while sitting in traffic and doing antibiotics to kill off infections created by their weakened immune systems and poor lifestyle habits.  Ask any of them how many books they’ve read about natural healing!  The answer will usually be zero.

Ok, now for the good news!  You can do as much holistic healing as you can possibly stand and most of it is cheap and/or free!  As the old cliche goes, “If you want to get something done, you’ve got to do it yourself.”  Right now you can read as many books on holistic healing as you want to.  Millions of people are already doing this!  You can also watch as many healing videos on Youtube as you want to…free!  Yea!  You can lean about the problem foods:  Wheat, dairy, meat, soy, corn and yeast.  You can buy a good natural pillow and develope a healthy neck:  http://www.vitalitymassage.net/millethullpillows.html  You can watch videos and participate in yoga exercises at home on your own floor.  You can meditate (yes, there are videos for that on Youtube as well) all freaking day long!  For $5 you can go and buy an enema bag and clean out your intestines every time you feel sickly from changing you diet.  You can hang out with healthy people by going to vegetarian, vegan, or raw food pot lucks.  (Most doctors are not living a healthy lifestyle!  Most have never gotten a massage or have even been to a health food store!)  You can find groups on Meetup.com or you can meet other healing folks at the health food store.  You can eat organic fruits and vegetables.  You can eat nuts and seeds, beans, seaweeds, fermented veggies, and the human grains (millet, quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat).   You can buy a cheap juicer and get started with that.  You can begin to connect with the divine and start to understand that everything is connected and that you are part of the source of all creation and that you are important if you want to be… you are beautiful if you want to be.  You can learn about plants, the real medicine, you know, those things created by God – not the pharmaceutical company!

Hi there! I’m Brett Rodgers, owner of Vitality Massage in beautiful Asheville, NC. http://www.vitalitymassage.net I love my work as a massage therapist but I also do holistic healing of all kinds including holistic teaching consultations and coaching. Please see my site for information about all the modalities of holistic healing offered. Please also see my various millet hull and buchwheat hull body support products. I.E.
